Surface temperature gauges attached to metal roof during INSULTEC application: -

  • White Colorbond Roof: 50°C
  • INSULTEC Applied Roof: 40°C

INSULTEC is a range of membranes and coatings, which, when applied to the exterior surface of a building, can dramatically reduce its internal temperature.
INSULTEC coatings are tailored to suit different climatic conditions and a variety of other circumstances, such as ease of application.

INSULTEC is applied to the exterior surface, particularly the roof and walls in liquid form. It then dries to a solid protective and attractive finish.

HOW SOLAR HEAT AFFECTS OUR BUILDINGS

Throughout the day, especially our hot summer days, heat is transferred through the roof and walls to the internal air space below, continually adding heat as the day progresses. Once the heat is in, it is trapped. Long after the air outside has cooled, it is still uncomfortably hot inside. Internally fitted conventional systems such as batts, foam, etc., only slow the rate of heat transfer – they DO NOT STOP it - thereby causing unnecessary maintenance and repair, particularly in the case of metal and concrete roofs.

INSULTEC’S UNIQUE FORMULATION can stop 90% of Infra-red light and 85% of Ultra Violet light from entering the building, sending it back into the atmosphere. When the ambient temperature drops in the afternoon, INSULTEC responds in the like manner. Not only are you more comfortable in summer, INSULTEC coated buildings have been reported to be 2-4°C warmer in winter.
